Kentucky recruiting coordinator Vince Marrow got on the board in the 2025 high school recruiting cycle when four-star Cincinnati (Ohio) Withrow wide receiver Quintin Simmons committed to Kentucky. The Wildcats are not close to done recruiting the Buckeye State in this cycle. Marrow and the rest of the Kentucky program got some promising news on Friday regarding a top defensive target.

Columbus (Ohio) Franklin cornerback Dawayne Galloway is the No. 103 overall prospect in the 2025 On3 Industry Ranking, a top-15 cornerback, and a top-five player in Ohio. The high four-star prospect announced his top dozen schools to begin the weekend. Kentucky made an appearance on Galloway’s list joined by Colorado, Georgia, Michigan, Oklahoma, Penn State, Purdue, Syracuse Tennessee, Texas A&M, UCF, and West Virginia.

“They all have come to see me at my school, they have shown that they want me very much, and their coaches have made it known that I am a priority target for them,” Galloway told On3 on Friday about his Top 12 schools. “These programs are some very good programs with bright futures ahead too.”

Dawayne Galloway plans on visiting most of these schools in the spring before locking in a half dozen official visits in June. Once those happen, the top-125 prospect plans to make a decision in the summer. The relationships with Marrow will not be the only things that matters in this recruitment.

“I need to have a great relationship with the head coach and the defensive backs coach,” Galloway said. “Then the rest of the staff needs to be very supportive and really close with me and my camp.”

The defensive back is one of the top targets on Kentucky’s board. Now the Wildcats must get the blue-chip prospect on campus in the spring and summer to strengthen this relationship.
