Dayton transfer Koby Brea scheduled to visit Kentucky
Koby Brea, the best shooter available in the transfer portal, will arrive in Lexington for his official visit with Kentucky on Monday night, KSR’s Jack Pilgrim reports.
After spending the last four seasons at Dayton, the 6-foot-6 sharpshooter is considered a Top 30 prospect to enter the portal this offseason by On3, checking in at No. 29. During the 2023-24 season, he shot 49.8 percent from deep — third-highest in Divison I, per KenPom — on 6.1 attempts per contest.
Along with Kentucky, Brea is also considering the likes of UConn, Duke, Kansas, and North Carolina. He recently visited the Huskies and was originally scheduled to visit the Blue Devils this week, as well, although that visit was ultimately canceled. Instead, he’ll make a stop at UK.
This past season, Brea averaged 11.1 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.2 assists in 29.1 minutes per outing for the Flyers. He started four of 33 games played, winning his second (2022) A-10 Sixth Man of the Year award.

Brea is among the nation’s top outside shooters. 201 of his 246 shots in ’23-24 were from long-range. He made 100 of them. His 72.2 true shooting percentage ranked second in the country last season (Reed Sheppard was sixth, for reference), per KenPom. Brea attempted just 16 free throws throughout the entire season but still made nearly 58 percent of his two-point attempts.
Kentucky is also hosting Utah State transfer forward Great Osobor, who arrived in Lexington on Sunday. Head coach Mark Pope has received three commitments over the last three days in San Diego State’s Lamont Butler, Oklahoma’s Otega Oweh, and Wake Forest’s Andrew Carr.
Pope currently has six pieces locked in for the 2024-25 season. Could Brea join the fold?
