'Definitely a chance' Hunter Dickinson's commitment comes today
The man himself has spoken. Well, the guy Hunter Dickinson does his podcast with, the show expected to release the news of the star Michigan transfer’s commitment.
This morning’s episode of KSR was loaded with Dickinson content, ranging from national insiders saying the 7-foot-1 center is “done” to Kentucky to a random friend of his on the Texas Tech basketball team saying he’s doing to Kansas. Maryland insiders think he’s a Terrapin while others haven’t ruled out Villanova or Georgetown or Syracuse or a return to Michigan.
Barstool’s Marty Mush, Dickinson’s friend and podcast cohost, put it best on KSR: “Every insider for every school has him going to that school.”
During his appearance on the show, Mush discussed the Michigan transfer’s upcoming decision and when an announcement could come. He didn’t rule out this afternoon as a possibility.
“There will be a podcast tonight, it’s coming out tonight,” Mush told KSR. “I don’t want to be bad for him and I want him to announce how he wants to announce, but there’s a chance. To be honest, I don’t know for certain. I usually just go along and he’s like, ‘OK, this is what I want to talk about’ and then I’ll try to get some things out of him.
“So I honestly do not know. There’s definitely a chance, and that’s why the podcast is the best. I’m not using him for it, it’s just like, hey, if he wants to do it on his podcast, people are going to be listening.”
Mush acknowledged that no one has any idea where he’s going — maybe not even Dickinson himself. Everyone that thinks they know or is reporting he’s leaning a certain way, respectfully, is making it up.

In the process, he threw a jab at national college basketball analyst Jeff Goodman for trying to get the scoop.
“I legitimately called him yesterday and was like, ‘Come on, gun to the head, who is it?’ And he’s like, ‘Dude, I’m just taking it (slow), making sure I’m making the right decision.’ That’s just what he’s doing,” Mush said. “He’s not doing this for publicity, he’s not doing anything. He’s like, ‘I need to do what’s best for me.’ And I actually give him credit, he’s keeping it close to his family and coaches. He’s not giving it to — and I’m not naming any names, but Jeff Goodbum (Goodman).”
In short, the announcement will come from Dickinson and Dickinson alone. And there’s a chance that could come today on their show together.
Mush doesn’t know for certain — he actually put said it was more likely than not he doesn’t make a commitment on the show — but said the new episode will be released sometime this afternoon.
“If people want insight on how the Kentucky visit went, we’re definitely going to talk about that. Everyone has an inside source that knows absolutely nothing, unless you were in Coach Cal’s office,” Mush joked. “… I put it at like a 45% chance he decides today. This is based on nothing from him. We’re recording in about two hours, so it might come out mid-afternoon. It’s gonna probably be out around four or five Eastern time.”
That will come on the RoundBall Podcast, which can be found on YouTube right here.
The wait continues for the biggest name in the transfer portal, literally and figuratively.
