Just a week before the earliest signing day in the history of college football early signing days, Kentucky added another piece to the puzzle. The Wildcats secured a commitment from Dejerrian “DJ” Miller, a big, highly sought-after wide receiver prospect.

Dejerrian Miller is a 6-foot-3, 190-pound pass-catcher from East St. Louis, Illinois. The high-three-star talent is the No. 445 overall player in the country, according to the On3 Industry Ranking.

Kentucky needs impact pass-catchers and this one was pursued by some of the best passing offenses in college football. In addition to officially visiting Kentucky over the summer, Miller also took OV trips to Tennessee and Ole Miss. Those schools know a thing or two about throwing the ball around the yard.

For a time, it looked like Miller might hop on the Lane Train down to the Sip. Illinois, Missouri, and Kansas State were also interested in the talented wide receiver. He kept things close to the vest and Kentucky WR coach Daikiel Shorts did not relent, ultimately pushing the right buttons to secure the commitment and alleviating some of the anxiety from Ja’Kayden Ferguson‘s decommitment.

Miller’s size makes him stand out, but that’s not what makes this traditional X-receiver jump out on tape. Rather than exclusively using that size to leverage big plays, he has exceptional get-off at the line of scrimmage and nice wiggle in open space. He’ll be a welcome addition to a Kentucky wide receiver room that’s expected to experience some turnover in 2025.
