Dekel Crowdus avoids surgery, "minor setback" with injury
How about some positive injury news to get your weekend started?
After a brief scare during practice Thursday, Kentucky freshman receiver Dekel Crowdus will not need surgery on his injured knee, KSR’s Ryan Lemond is happy to report.
Various tests Thursday afternoon and Friday morning came back clean, with only a “minor setback” expected for the in-state standout.
“Great news from my man (Dekel Crowdus) this afternoon,” Lemond reported. “No surgery on his knee. Prayers answered. He’s a great kid who has worked his ass off. This is just a minor setback, and he’ll be back better and faster than ever!”

Kentucky has seen three different players go down with season-ending injuries this offseason alone in WR Clevan Thomas, LB D’Eryk Jackson, and TE Keaton Upshaw. Luckily for the program, Crowdus will not be the fourth.
Crowdus came to Kentucky as a four-star recruit out of Frederick Douglass High School in Lexington, KY and was impressing in practice leading up to the knee injury. After healing up and recovering from the brief scare, the 5-foot-10 playmaker will be “back better and faster than ever.”
Phew.
