Dekel Crowdus Update: Kentucky WR pleaded not guilty to June charges
We have a small update regarding Dekel Crowdus, the Kentucky wide receiver who was arrested on June 25 near the University of Kentucky’s campus in Lexington. On Wednesday, the 20-year-old Crowdus appeared in Fayette County court for the charges. He entered a not-guilty plea, per WTVQ, and is due back on July 20.
The day after his June arrest, a spokesperson for the university said the school was aware of the situation and will handle its end of the matter internally.

Crowdus due for a big junior season
It is unclear if Crowdus will miss any time on the field this fall for his offseason arrest, but it’s very clear that he was one of the stories of the spring for his emergence in the wide receiver rotation. Back in April, Adam Luckett wrote Dekel Crowdus made a strong impression during spring practice, only for Crowdus to redirect the Dekel Crowdus narrative on June 25.
Before the arrest, Liam Coen said of Crowdus, “I think he’s taking football really seriously right now and I’m excited to see some of the improvements that he makes throughout this spring to be able to give us some role on this offense.”
