Brooklyn DeLeye Sets School Record, No. 13 Kentucky Beats Georgia in Four
Brooklyn DeLeye set a new school record in kills in a four-set match as No. 13 Kentucky picked up an eighth-straight victory Sunday afternoon, downing Georgia in four (25-27, 25-22, 25-21, 25-21) inside Historic Memorial Coliseum.
As they have for much of the year, Kentucky leaned heavily on the arm of DeLeye as the sophomore totaled a whopping 30 kills on a .377 clip in four sets of play. Through 69 total swings, DeLeye compiled only four errors. The mark sets a new school record for kills in a four-set match as DeLeye joins Anni Thomasson and Leah Edmond as the only three Wildcats to eclipse the 30-kill mark in the rally-scoring era.
Kentucky saw two other Cats reach double figures on the afternoon, as Asia Thigpen added 11 terminations and Brooke Bultema recorded 10. Megan Wilson and freshman Kennedy Washington each added seven kills as well.
Senior Emma Grome did a magnificent job running the offense against the Bulldogs as she racked up 58 assists to help the Cats total 66 kills on a .351 clip.

With the victory, Kentucky improves to 17-7 on the season and remains in first atop the Southeastern Conference with an 11-2 record. Next up, the Cats will return home to take on Mississippi State Wednesday night inside Memorial Coliseum. First serve against the Bulldogs is set for 7:00 pm ET and will be broadcast live on SEC Network+.
