Frederick Douglass OL Demeco Kennedy commits to Purdue
Purdue consistently recruited the Bluegrass State when Jeff Brohm was roaming the sidelines for six seasons in West Lafayette. That does not appear to be changing under first-year head coach Ryan Walters.
On Thursday, Lexington (Ky.) Frederick Douglass offensive lineman Demeco Kennedy committed to the Boilermakers during a ceremony at school.
Demeco Kennedy is the No. 1,006 ranked prospect in the 2024 On3 Industry Ranking. The interior offensive line prospect is the No. 8 overall player in Kentucky. Kennedy is now the 11th player in the Bluegrass to commit to a Power Five program.

Demeco Kennedy took official visits to Illinois, Purdue, and West Virginia in June. However, the Boilermakers were the winners in the end. Kennedy will join former teammate Jamarrion Harkless who is a true freshman on Purdue’s defensive line.
Now Demeco Kennedy can turn his full attention to his final season of high school football where Frederick Douglass is attempting to win a state title in its first season in 6A.
