Denzel Aberdeen is mic'd up at Kentucky practice: "We're coming for No. 9"

The content is rolling out from the Joe Craft Center, ranging from 90s camcorder footage to top plays of the day as Kentucky basketball practices stack up throughout the summer. They get eight weeks to work with, and they’re making the most of every one — three weeks down, five more to go.
The latest release out of Lexington? Florida transfer Denzel Aberdeen was mic’d up for a recent practice with highlights to pair with the segment, the newest guard showing his defensive intensity, talking and clapping on every possession. We also got plenty of the fun offensive stuff, too, Aberdeen throwing down athletic dunks and knocking down shots.
“You’re looking at one of the best guards in the SEC right now, book it,” Kam Williams said into Aberdeen’s mic.
“One of the best shooters right there,” Aberdeen responded.
Then the best highlight of all? The Florida transfer’s baseline drive and reverse finish at the rim around the contest from Collin Chandler — a difficult move he makes look easy. His physical drive through traffic for the tough bucket is a close second.
“Stay tuned, BBN. We’re coming for No. 9,” Aberdeen said.

“When I saw him commit, I’m like, oh, we got a gem for sure,” Jaland Lowe said of Aberdeen on Monday. “Because even though he won a national championship, sixth man, all of that, I don’t think guys really knew how good he is. And I feel like when you have that mutual respect for each other, it’s like, ‘Okay, now we’re working with something. We can bounce off each other.’ And I mean, that’s been like my best friend since we’ve been up here.”
Let’s check up on some of the other practice footage while we’re at it, starting with that impressive camcorder work from Wednesday:
And Walker Horn making a push for PG1 with some filthy passes — among other beautiful basketball content:
Don’t forget about Trent Noah’s no-look pass, followed by a dunk in traffic:
More of that, please and thank you, UK Athletics. We’ll take all of the content we can get.
