Deone Walker is one of the most ferocious defenders in all of college football. To respect this fearsome defensive tackle, plenty of preseason honors are rolling in ahead of his junior campaign.

Walker is a Preseason Second Team All-American by the Walter Camp Foundation, the oldest college football All-American team. “The Father of American Football” selected his first All-American Team in 1889. Many of the rules to the sport we know and love were established by Camp during his time coaching the sport at Yale.

This is the second preseason accolade for Walker during Watch List SZN. The talented defensive tackle from Detroit is also a candidate for the Lott IMPACT Trophy.

Walker was one of the most disruptive interior defensive linemen in college football last fall. He earned All-SEC honors after leading the Wildcats in tackles for loss (12.5), quarterback sacks (7.5), and quarterback hurries (8). He also broke up two passes at the line of scrimmage, one of which turned into an interception against Florida that was returned inside the red zone.

Many believe No. 0 will be a Top 15 pick in next year’s NFL Draft. Here are just a few reasons why.
