Derrick Locke is clearly.....

by:Bryan1310/24/10
...Kentucky's most irreplaceable player this season.  That much is clear after 2 weeks of not having him.  The future is bright for Kentucky at the running back position, with Donald Russell and Raymond Sanders waiting the wings.  But frankly, those guys are just not there yet to be effective in the SEC.  Need more proof? Derrick Locke's season stats: 108 carries, 574 yards (5.3 ypc), 7 TD, 0 fumbles Against South Carolina Donald Russell: 18 carries, 49 yards (2.3 ypc), 0 TD, 1 fumble Against Georgia Raymond Sanders: 16 carries, 79 yards (4.9 ypc), 0 TD Donald Russell: 7 carries, 13 yards (1.9 ypc), 0 TD, 1 fumble Combined (last 2 games) 41 carries, 141 yards (3.4 ypc), 0 TD, 2 fumbles It's not that hard to see how much more of a threat Kentucky has been with Locke in the backfield.  He is getting almost 2 more yards EVERY carry, has yet to fumble to ball, and found the endzone 7 times in 6 games.  Sanders and Russell did not find the endzone in the last 2 games, and fumbled twice.  Joker Phillips said that Locke has regained most of the feeling back in his shoulder and odds are he will be able to play this weekend.  And from the look's of it, let's hope so.
