Details released for Kentucky MBB's summer trip to Canada
For the second summer in a row, Kentucky men’s basketball will play against international competition.
On Monday morning, details for the Wildcats’ road trip to Toronto, Ontario, Canada for the 2023 GLOBL JAM were officially announced. The event will take place from July 12-16 at Toronto’s Mattamy Athletic Centre.
Kentucky will represent the United States in what is being tabbed as “a world-class international basketball showcase featuring Under-23 teams from around the world.” The ‘Cats will play in four games total up north: July 12 (1:30 p.m. EST) vs. Germany, July 13 (8:00 p.m. EST) vs. Canada, and July 15 (1:30 p.m. EST) vs. Team Africa. Following that, a bronze and gold medal championship game will take place on July 16.
Fans looking to cheer on the Wildcats across the border can secure a Team USA Gold Pack, which includes access to all of UK’s round-robin games, as well as the gold medal championship game. GLOBL JAM tickets are now on sale via Ticketmaster starting at less than $20 per session for two games.

“We’re so appreciative of the NABC and Canada Basketball for the invitation to participate in the GLOBL JAM,” Head coach John Calipari said in UK’s press release. “They have put together a field full of talented and tough teams that will begin to help us prepare for the upcoming season, while also providing us with another special trip for not only our team but for our fans as well. On behalf of everyone at the University of Kentucky and our team, we’re honored to represent the United States and we’re excited to get to Toronto and take part in this terrific event.”
This will be the fourth summer exhibition series for the program under Calipari.
Kentucky also participated in a summer trip last year, traveling to the Bahamas for the program’s Big Blue Bahamas Tour. The ‘Cats went 4-0 in those outings. That was also a four-game event, but the competition in Canada this summer should be a step up from what fans saw in 2022. Broadcast information will be released at a later date.
