Devin Booker is having a career season in the NBA. The seventh year pro is a key cog for the 64-18 Phoenix Suns as the team looks to defend its Western Conference title and bring home the Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy for the first time in franchise history.

However, the Suns will need to win some games without Devin Booker in the lineup.

On Wednesday, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Booker’s right hamstring injury will force the star guard out of Games 3 and 4 in the first round series with the New Orleans Pelicans.

In a significant upset, the Pelicans went into the Footprint Center and knocked off the top-seeded Suns with a 125-114 victory behind 37 points, 11 rebounds, and nine assists from wing Brandon Ingram on Tuesday. However, the home team was without Booker in the fourth quarter after the two-guard dropped 31 points in 24 minutes through the first three quarters.

The three-time NBA All-Star entered the postseason averaging a career-high in points (26.8), rebounds (5.0), steals (1.1), and three-point percentage (38.3%). Booker, 25, is a cornerstone of the franchise in Phoenix as the young star has teamed up with Chris Paul to make the Suns legitimate contenders.

However, Phoenix will have to manage the upcoming road trip without Devin Booker in the lineup for the next two games in New Orleans. Game 3 in the series will take place on Friday.
