Devin Booker finished with a near triple-double on Saturday, going for 20 points, nine assists and eight rebounds for the Phoenix Suns. And he did it in style, rocking Kentucky blue and white sneakers — his own exclusive Nike Book 1s.

The former Wildcat superstar announced his first-ever signature shoe with Nike back in 2023 before the official worldwide release in 2024 — although last year’s UK team got them in December ’23. That’s led to a number of different colorways over the course of the last year, including one navy blue edition with a retro Kentucky basketball logo.

You may remember Pope showed those off back in October:

Now, Booker is showing off another version of those UK sneakers, this time with a white body and blue lining with that same beautiful Wildcat on the heel. He wore them in the game for the Phoenix Suns in Indianapolis — the closest franchise to his old Kentucky home.

Take a look:

The sneakers Pope got his hands on were special edition with “34-2” on the tongue, honoring the 1996 national championship team’s record. Then you have the Wildcat logo on the heel and soles with “chapter one” on the heel, as well, similar to his own first chapter as Kentucky’s head coach.

“These are incredible, right?” Pope said at the time. “They also got our record 34-2 in 1996. Conveniently, Book One is chapter one, which is very relevant to us. Super cool. Even the sole has got the old logo — it’s fire. Am I gonna get in trouble for saying that? It’s also a very large shoe. I would hand it out, but none of you could wear it.”

Pope also used that moment to praise Booker, a four-time All-Star on his way to a fifth selection while debuting his own signature shoe.

“Devin Booker is a superstar man,” Pope said. “You think about Devin Booker, came here and played on one of the all-time great teams in Kentucky, never started a game, played 20 minutes a game, on a great team that ran the table, except one game. Dude’s going to be the MVP in the NBA here this year, the next year, or the year after. It’s incredible. He’s a great ambassador for this game and certainly a great ambassador for Kentucky. I thought it was pretty swaggy, I thought I’d show you that. It felt good.”

A great ambassador who continues to rep his alma mater at the highest level. Keep rocking those sneakers (and get me a pair, please).
