Kentucky deputy athletic director DeWayne Peevy will stay at Kentucky a little longer.
John Calipari's righthand man almost left Lexington for Albuquerque, New Mexico.
The Albuquerque Journal reports Peevy was one of three finalists to be the new athletic director at University of New Mexico. The job ultimately was given to Eddie Nunez, formerly LSU's deputy director of athletics.
The University of Kentucky is lucky to keep Peevy in Lexington. He's done an excellent job creating the Kentucky basketball schedule each year, but even more importantly, his close relationship with John Calipari has made the coach's time at Kentucky enjoyable, and in turn, an unprecedented success.
