DJ Wagner drops 32 in star-studded matchup between Camden (NJ) and Columbus (FL)

Kentucky men’s basketball signee DJ Wagner looked like a future superstar on Wednesday night, but his team was upset by the most talented group of twins in high school hoops.
Wagner popped off for 32 points in Camden (NJ) High School’s 75-66 defeat to Columbus (FL) High School down in Miami. It was the first loss of the season for Camden (7-1), which is considered the No. 4 team in the country, according to MaxPreps. Wagner, who connected on five triples throughout the night, poured in 14 of his team’s 17 points during the fourth quarter.
Kentucky assistant coach Chin Coleman was in attendance to watch Wagner along with fellow Wildcat signee Aaron Bradshaw, who also plays for Camden. Wagner is ranked No. 6 in the class of 2023 per the On3 Consensus while Bradshaw is ranked No. 3. Both will suit up for UK in 2022-23.
Columbus came in ranked No. 11 and received 21 points, 17 rebounds, five assists, and three blocks from the top-ranked sophomore in the nation, Cameron Boozer, the son of two-time NBA All-Star Carlos Boozer. Cameron’s twin brother, four-star point guard Cayden Boozer, added 19 points, four assists, and three rebounds.

Camden also features a class of 2024 prospect that Kentucky is keeping a close eye on. 6-foot-4, three-star shooting guard Billy Richmond III, who announced an offer from the ‘Cats last week, is a new high school junior for UK fans to keep an eye on. He also holds offers from the likes of Louisville, Memphis, and Mississippi State, among others.
While Richmond is low in the national rankings, checking in at No. 154 per the On3 Consensus, he holds an interesting connection to Kentucky head coach John Calipari.
Richmond’s father — Billy Richmond II — started his college basketball career at Vanderbilt in 2000-01, averaging 8.8 points in 23.3 minutes per contest as a freshman. He then transferred to Memphis for his final two seasons of college basketball, averaging a combined 7.7 points in 21.9 minutes per game. A 6-foot-5 guard, Richmond was ultimately dismissed from the team by John Calipari in 2003 — a relationship that has since been repaired.
