DL Noah Matthews Commits to Kentucky on National Signing Day
Kentucky fortified its 2022 recruiting class by adding size to its front line on National Signing Day. Noah Matthews announced he has committed and signed with the University of Kentucky.
Recruited by Brad White, Matthews is the second Delaware native to commit to Kentucky in 2022, joining defensive lineman Tomiwa Durojaiye. Now with 20 incoming high school players, Kentucky’s 2022 recruiting class ranks 12th nationally.

Matthews picked Kentucky over Illinois. Each school was late to the game in his recruitment. Once overlooked by Power Five programs, Matthews initially committed to FCS Weber State in southern Utah. Thanks to exceptional senior season, the 6-foot-5, 250 pound athlete has an opportunity to develop in the SEC at Kentucky.
What Matthews Brings to the BBN
Matthews does not have a lengthy offer sheet, but you will see a lengthy athlete when you turn on the tape. A versatile pass rusher, he played standing up on the edge and in a three-point stance in the trenches for Woodbridge. He will play outside linebacker for White in Lexington. Also a tight end, he earned first team all-state honors and helped his team reach the 2A State Final with a 12-1 record. Matthews may be considered a slow-cooker, but he brings plenty of potential to Lexington.
