Kentucky is 'very high' on list for high 3-star DL Dominic Kirks
Kentucky only has two commitments in the class of 2024. That should be changing soon. Cleveland (Ohio) Villa Angela-St. Joseph defensive lineman Dominic Kirks is a prospect to monitor.
The top-20 prospect in Ohio is fresh off an impressive performance at the Under Armour Columbus Camp and has three official visits locked in. Kirks caught up with On3 Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons and provided an update on his recruitment.
Vince Marrow has Kentucky in very good shape as official visit season quickly approaches.
“Coach (Vince) Marrow really reaches out a lot. I’m starting to build a relationship with the defensive line coach (Anwar Stewart) and my head coach, he knows their coaches a lot. He trusts them a lot, so his word matters to me and I really trust I can build a great relationship with them,” Kirks told On3. “I’ve already been down there. It’s SEC football, that’s the best football in my opinion. You wouldn’t want to miss out on SEC football because of the development and they get players drafted.”
Kirks has an official visit locked in with Kentucky (June 9). The line of scrimmage prospect will also take an official visit to Pittsburgh (June 2) and Washington (June 16). The prospect holds 19 scholarship offers with Cincinnati, Rutgers, and Wisconsin all lurking in this recruitment.

The three schools with official visits scheduled are “very high” on Kirks’ list.
Kirks is the No. 585 ranked prospect in the 2024 On3 Industry Ranking. On3 is specifically high on Kirks ranking the defensive lineman as a four-star recruit and No. 11 overall player in a deep Ohio class. The Wildcats will now look to close on the prospect when he makes a trip to campus next month.
Kentucky currently has 12 scholarship defensive lineman on the 2023 roster and none of those players are in their final year of eligibility. Stewart should return a lot in 2024, but college football programs can never stop building in the trenches. Dominic Kirks is a player to watch closely over the summer as one of few legitimate defensive line targets for the Wildcats.
