Dominika Paurová has a high motor that will make her invaluable for Kentucky WBB

Dominika Paurová missed the entirety of last season after going down with an ACL injury while representing Czechia in a game against Iceland in the FIBA U20 Women’s EuroBasket back in July.
The 6-foot-1 guard was brought in to be a potential starter — probably the first person off the bench at minimum. In the 2023-24 season, she was the sixth man on an Oregon State team that went to the Elite Eight before falling to undefeated South Carolina.
We did a FILM ROOM article on Paurová back in September, but to quickly summarize what type of player Kentucky will be getting in Paurová, she’s a high-energy type of player.
Not only is she a solid perimeter shooter (37.2% shooting from three-point range) and a versatile defender, but everything she does is at 110%. High-speed, high-octane, all the time.

Kenny Brooks found a ton of success in transition offense last season, and he’s going to want to build on that even more. He brought back the triplets in the post — the core — and he surrounded them with lethal shooters, athletic and skilled wings and an elite downhill and distributing point guard in Tonie Morgan.
Adding Paurová to that mix makes her the perfect fit for what Kentucky will want to do this season. Whether she’ll be a starter or not remains to be seen, especially with her coming off the ACL injury. However, whatever role she plays in, whether she plays 15 minutes a game or 35, she’ll be a very big piece for this year’s squad.
