Dontaie Allen wants a Kentucky-WKU rematch

Dontaie Allen transferred out of Kentucky not even a full month ago, but he’s already looking to stir up the fanbase.
Sunday morning, the former Wildcat turned Western Kentucky Hilltoppers shooting guard tweeted out that he wants a rematch between the two programs. Although this time around, he’ll be on the other end of the benches.
Kentucky and WKU played in Lexington during the 2021-22 season, which resulted in the ‘Cats smacking the Toppers 95-60 in a contest that saw Oscar Tshiebwe break a Rupp Arena record for most rebounds in a single outing with 28. Kentucky was initially scheduled to play Louisville, but COVID-19 forced a schedule change and brought in WKU as a replacement.
Allen, who entered his name in the portal on March 24 and committed to WKU on April 13, did not play when the two team’s met this season. He surely has some revenge on his mind after a bumpy three-year stint under head coach John Calipari at Kentucky.

“So can we run the WKU UK matchup back?” Allen wrote on Twitter.
During his time with the ‘Cats, Allen made 40 appearances across two seasons of playing time after redshirting his freshman year. His most notable memories in a Kentucky uniform came during the 2020-21 season when he caught fire on two separate occasions against Mississippi State. His junior year in 2021-22 was a bit of a step back though, as the Falmouth, KY native saw more than 15 minutes of action in just three games.
I don’t think any Kentucky fan would have a problem with a rematch against WKU, especially with Allen now expected to step in as an immediate contributor for the Hilltoppers. Let’s make it happen, folks.
