The mustache guy who beat Kentucky got a NIL deal with Buffalo Wild Wings
Remember Doug Edert, the guy with the mustache that came off the bench to score 20 points in Saint Peter’s upset of Kentucky last week? How can you not, right? Well, Mr. Mustache forayed his March moments into a national NIL deal. Edert announced on Instagram last night that he’s partnering with Buffalo Wild Wings. He’s also launched an apparel line with Barstool Sports with the slogan “Dougie Buckets.”
You know what? I’m not even mad about it. I mean, how can you be when you look at that picture. That guy, who is averaging 9.7 points this season, scored 33 so far in the NCAA Tournament to lead a No. 15-seed to the Sweet 16. He deserves all those chicken wings. As Zack Geoghegan joked in our group text, the only way it could be better is if KFC signed him instead.
Oh no. Am I a Saint Peter’s fan now? Every win by them moving forward makes the Cats look less awful after all. Can’t get in the way of destiny, even if it comes with a giant mustache.
