Draymond Green wanted Rob Dillingham to rock, so Rob Dillingham rocked
Late in Kentucky‘s loss at Texas A&M, the Wildcats trailed the Aggies when Draymond Green offered a suggestion from the couch. The Golden State Warrior and former Michigan State Spartan posted, “They need to let Dillingham Rock,” after Kentucky’s Rob Dillingham scored a game-tying layup with four minutes left in regulation, only 20 seconds after subbing into the tense game.
Green’s outsider take on the game proved to be true because, moments after he hit send, Dillingham checked back in with a little over two minutes to go and his team down four, and once again, Dillingham made an immediate impact. Right away, the freshman guard sank a three-pointer, another three-pointer, and then a third in a row to tie the game with a minute left. He scored nine consecutive points in 64 seconds. He rocked.
“Let him cook!” Green added in a reply.
Dillingham: “You’ve got to miss shot to make shots.”
Dillingham couldn’t make a shot before or after his nine-point flurry at the end of regulation. He missed five from outside until the hot hand, then a game-winning try rattled out at the end of regulation, and he missed his only heat check in overtime. After the game, Dillingham said, “You’ve got to miss shots to make shots.” He’s waiting for another shot in March.

He has that same mentality about the loss, saying, “We didn’t come up with the W, but it shows we can fight. I feel like this is good for us. We need to take an L to win. To win, you’ve got to lose.”
