Top-300 TE Dylan Mesman to visit Kentucky
As Kentucky as transitioned to a pro-style offense, the tight end position has gained value in Lexington. The Wildcats will enter the 2023 season with seven scholarship players at that spot with three coming from the class of 2023.
However, that is a position that the coaching staff is still looking at in the class of 2024. Four-star tight end Dylan Mesman (6-5, 205) has emerged as a clear recruiting target for the Wildcats.
In September, Vince Marrow issued a verbal scholarship offer to Mesman. The tight end released his top-10 schools in January with Auburn, Cincinnati, Duke, Louisville, Maryland, Michigan State, Minnesota, Pittsburgh, and Virginia Tech all making the cut. Over the last few months, UK has been working on this recruitment to set up a visit.
Mesman is planning on making the trip down to Lexington next month.
According to Jason Killop of Spartan Mag, Mesman will make a trip to East Lansing this weekend to visit Mel Tucker’s program at Michigan State. After that, the four-star prospect has multiple trips lined up including a stop at Kentucky on April 14.

If the Wildcats are to make a move in this recruitment, it will have to be during this unofficial visit.
The Saline (Mich.) High product is a Michigan State legacy recruit who will be on campus in East Lansing for at least the fourth time this weekend. The Big Ten East program is the heavy favorite at the moment. Kentucky will look to close ground in April.
Recruiting never stops.
