Lost in all of the recent excitement in college basketball was the release of a teaser trailer for EA Sports’ “College Football ’25.” The highly anticipated college football video game is scheduled for a release this summer, breaking an 11-year drought between versions of EA’s popular video game franchise. NIL recently opened the door for the game’s return after it was not renewed in 2014 due to legal disputes over player likeness. Now, EA can legally compensate players for using their names, images, and likenesses, so the new installment of the game is expected to be more realistic than ever, from the rosters to significant upgrades in gameplay and imagery.

Schools have reportedly been active in helping the game get what it needs to simulate on-campus atmospheres and traditions. At Kentucky, the game is expected to include several of Kroger Field’s game day traditions, from the Air Raid siren to the coal whistle. The Twitter/X account @EACOLLEGEFOOT, which tracks the game’s developments, recently listed the Kentucky Football traditions expected to be included in the game:

The following are “times” that we play them in-venue:

  • Pregame Part 1 & 2 – After team leaves the field before the team returns to start the game
  • Air Raid Siren – immediately after UK touchdowns
  • On On UK – this is our fight song. Played after scores and after air raid siren
  • 3гª Down Coal Whistle – on third downs
  • Law & Order SFX – on opposing team penalties
  • Wildcat Growl – any UK first down or big play on offense/defense
  • Random Band Songs:
    – Hey Song
    – Trombone Cheer
    – Trumpet Cheer
    – War
  • Postgame – My Old KY Home (alma mater)

If there is anything else that you are looking for just let me know and I’ll get those sent over.

Thanks!

More Kentucky traditions, sights, and sounds needed in “College Football ’25”

Suppose we are to believe the anonymous internet report. In that case, there are some very notable absences from the Kentucky Football experience in Lexington:

The Cat Walk – A shot of the “Cat Walk” would be nice a touch before each game at Kroger Field.

“Grove St. Party” – The unofficial anthem of Kentucky Football is the most streamed song on Saturdays throughout the Bluegrass. Waka Flocka Flame and Electronic Arts should come to an agreement to put “Grove St. Party” in the game.

“Ohhhhhhhh! C! A! T! S! CATS! CATS! CATS!”The Big Blue Nation’s rallying cry can also be heard throughout the state on game days. Inside the stadium, the two sidelines and each end zone shout a letter before coming together for the CATS! in unison.

“Blue! … White! … Blue! … White!”Another popular chant in the stadium splits each side of the stadium into Blue! and White!

Carl Nathe – The new game is expected to return Kirk Herbstreit and Chris Fowler to their broadcasting roles, but adding the public address announcer for each stadium would be a nice touch. Imagine hearing, “For another… FIRST DOWN KENTUCKY!” as you run up the score on Tennessee.

Marlana VanHoose – Like Carl Nathe’s P.A. announcements, Marlana VanHoose’s “Star Spangled Banner” is a signature sound at Kroger Field.

Crowd shots of fans doing L’s Down – While you’re at it, give us some Horns Down, too.

Pregame Videos – You’re all alone in a dark room; only the tiny blue light from the Playstation can be seen in the darkness while the opening scene loads. Then you hear it: “All roads lead to Lexington…” as Kroger Field’s pregame video plays on your TV before your Heisman candidate quarterback with the made-up name runs onto the field to play Georgia in a battle of the SEC’s only unbeaten teams. The game gives you the option to skip the intro, but you let it play every time.

This summer can’t get here soon enough. A full trailer for the game is expected by May.
