'EA College Football' video game has a targeted release date next year
We have an update regarding the highly-anticipated relaunch of the NCAA Football video game series. Thanks to the research of Matt Brown of Extra Points with Matt Brown, you can mark July 2023 on your calendar for the release of EA College Football ’24; a new name for EA Sports’ first college football game since NCAA Football ’14. Brown confirmed the July 2023 target date over a year ago and recently followed up on the situation to find EA still has next summer earmarked for the return.
As for the University of Kentucky’s inclusion in the game, there were early concerns over EA Sports’ partnership with the Collegiate Licensing Company for participating teams. The CLC represents nearly every FBS program and the trademark licensing to be a part of the game; however, Kentucky is not among the CLC’s 100+ institutions. UK’s rights are signed over to JMI Sports instead.
Don’t throw your controller just yet. JMI was in early talks with EA Sports about a deal and Brown’s expectation is every FBS institution will be on the game when it is released.
