EJ Montgomery not on list of potential NBA Draft Combine invites
NBA Draft Combine invitations are being sent out as we speak, but one of Kentucky’s draft hopefuls isn’t even among the players being considered for the event. This morning, Adam Zagoria posted the list of 105 potential combine participants created based on votes from NBA general managers. Ashton Hagans, Immanuel Quickley, Tyrese Maxey, Nick Richards, and even Kahlil Whitney received votes and therefore made the list. EJ Montgomery did not. Ouch.
From here, NBA GMs will whittle the list to 70 players and send out invitations. According to Zagoria, Whitney’s already got one:

It’s worth noting that right now, it’s not clear if the Combine will even take place. Originally scheduled for May 21-24, the event was postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak and has yet to be rescheduled. If it does happen, it will likely take place after the Draft Lottery, which is scheduled for August 20. The Draft is set for October 16.
EJ’s decision will go down as an all-time head scratcher.
