The official visits are getting most of the attention this weekend in Lexington with as many as 13 prospects in the class of 2023 expected at Kentucky. However, the Wildcats are also holding a very important recruiting camp on Sunday. We should see some 2024 prospects start to emerge from that event.

For the second summer in a row, Pleasant Grove (Ala.) High quarterback Eric Handley will be making the trip north to Lexington.

As a sophomore, Handley threw for 1,868 yards in 11 games with 28 touchdowns and just four interceptions. The 6-foot-2 quarterback completed 64.5 percent of his passes and averaged 8.9 yards per attempt while also rushing for three additional touchdowns.

After receiving an offer from Kentucky last June, Handley has received offers from both Troy and UAB. The rising junior has visited Mississippi State twice since October, went to UCF in April, and took a trip to see Duke last week.

A lot has changed since Eric Handley received that offer from Kentucky as Jon Sumrall is no longer recruiting the Birmingham area for the Wildcats, and offensive coordinator Liam Coen has returned to the NFL. This weekend will be vital as Handley will look to build a relationship with Rich Scangarello who is now running the offensive operation in Lexington.

Expect some more recruiting news to emerge from Kentucky this weekend as the Wildcats are just now beginning a huge recruiting weekend.
