Eric Wolford spent his first day on the job recruiting
Arguably the greatest asset Eric Wolford brings to Kentucky is his recruiting ability. He spent his first day back on the job pounding the pavement and recruiting some of the most talented offensive linemen in the country.
On Monday afternoon UK officially announced Wolford’s return. Shortly thereafter some of the top offensive linemen in the country announced offers from the University of Kentucky.
Eric Wolford had already established relationships with some of the country’s top offensive linemen while recruiting for Nick Saban. He is no longer wearing an Alabama logo, but the relationships aren’t eroding overnight. If he can convince one or two of those guys to come to Kentucky, it’s a win for the program.
Offensive Linemen with Eric Wolford Offers on Day 1
David Sanders (OT) 6-5, 250 | Providence Day School (Charlotte, NC)
5-star: No. 2 overall, No. 1 OT
In case you couldn’t tell by that recruiting ranking, Sanders is kind of a big deal. Is it a long shot for Kentucky to land a Top 2 player in the country? Sure, but Wolford already established the relationship. Why cut it off now?
Dontrell Glover (IOL) 6-4, 310 | Langston Hughes (Fairburn, GA)
4-star: No. 162 overall, No. 9 IOL
Wolford already received one commitment from Glover. The talented Georgia offensive lineman reopened his recruitment once Nick Saban announced his retirement. He has since visited Auburn and Kirby Smart is getting involved, emerging as a top choice for Glover. Tennessee is another team to keep a close eye on during Wolford’s pursuit.
Mason Short (IOL) 6-5, 300 | Evans (Evans, GA)
4-star: No. 195 overall, No. 10 IOL
Originally recruited by Zach Yenser, Short is another player who is familiar with Wolford. Like Glover, he decommitted from Alabama following Nick Saban’s retirement. Like Glover, Georgia is now trending to keep the Georgia native in the Peach State, but he’s not entirely focused on his home state school. Over the weekend he visited Clemson. Wolford’s move to Lexington may open the door for more momentum with the Wildcats.

Tyler Miller (OT) 6-5, 310 | Laurel (Laurel, MS)
4-star: No. 184 overall, No. 15 OT
Wolford will try to pry one of the best players in Mississippi from the Magnolia State and it might be a challenge. Ole Miss and Mississippi State are battling for Miller’s services, where over the weekend the offensive tackle took a trip to Starkville.
Avery Gach (IOL) 6-4, 270 | Wylie E. Groves (Franklin, MI)
4-star: No. 207 overall, No. 11 IOL
Kentucky’s offensive line coach has successfully recruited the Detroit area in the past. He’ll try to repeat history with Gach, who’s ranked as the No. 2 player in the state of Michigan. Ohio State, Michigan State, and Michigan are all big-time players in this recruitment.
Michael Carroll (IOL) 6-6, 300 | Central Bucks East (Doylesburg, PA)
4-star: No. 236 overall, No. 15 IOL
The third-ranked player in the state of Pennsylvania is ranked by On3 as the No. 117 overall player in the 2025 class. He visited Penn State over the weekend. Michigan appears to be their top competition as of right now, while Florida and South Carolina try to pry the big guy down to the South to play college football.
