Kentucky is working on closing out recruitments in the class of 2024. The dice are starting to become hot in Lexington as commitments are finally starting to roll in. Signing day is less than six months away, but that does not mean future recruiting work is not being done. Now is a good time for coaching staffs to begin building relationships for 2025 prospects. The Wildcats are one of many college football programs doing that currently.

The Greater Indianapolis era has not been an area that Kentucky has recruited often. However, it’s always one worth checking on since it’s only three hours away. In that area, the Wildcats are working to gain ground with an unranked wide receiver prospect.

Zionsville (Ind.) High rising junior Eugene Hilton recently caught up with On3’s Jeremy Johnson to provide an update on his recruitment. The son of former Indianapolis Colts star wideout T.Y. Hilton has received a lot of early interest from Kentucky. The older Hilton just wrapped up his 11th season in the NFL and has four career Pro Bowl nominations along with 638 career receptions for 9,812 career yards and 53 career receiving touchdowns.

Auburn and Ohio State are other schools in contact, but the Cats and their pro-style offense have the attention of the younger Hilton.

“I really like the scheme they run,” Eugene Hilton said. “I know that they’re developing their players, they have good connections with their players. That’s what you want when you go to a school. That’s what really opens my eyes.”

Hilton has already visited Kentucky at least once and has an upcoming trip planned to Tennessee. The Wildcats have established a relationship early and will hope that pays off about a year from now when the lion’s share of the 2025 prospects begin to make their college decisions.
