Film Room: Dallas Dickerson

Every college football program is always looking for more speed on offense. Kentucky is no different under offensive coordinator Bush Hamdan. The Wildcats addressed that need at wide receiver in a big way on Tuesday.
Bogart (Ga.) North Oconee star wideout Dallas Dickerson ended his recruitment when the high three-star prospect picked UK over Georgia Tech and Oklahoma. After the Sooners seemed to gain momentum in this recruitment, the Cats were able to flip it by getting the last official visit with Dickerson.
What will the third receiver to join Kentucky’s 2026 high school recruiting class bring to the offense? The Cats have added one of the fastest players in high school football to the program. That speed shows up on the field.
Explosive play generator
Dallas Dickerson recently recorded a 10.40 time in the 100 meters on the North Oconee track team. That would be good enough for a clear 4.4 forty-yard dash. The speedster might even be able to get into the 4.3s at 180 pounds on a 6-foot-1 frame.
All of that speed shows up on tape. The wide receiver prospect impacts the game as a vertical field stretcher and as a yards after catch (YAC) creator.
The long speed jumps off the tape as Dickerson is able to sprint by cornerbacks and then enter into a striding glide that allows him to run away from just about anyone. When the ball is in the air, the wideout does a good job of ball tracking and even made some high point grabs when the ball was underthrown on his junior tape. The wideout is a legitimate weapon on gos and posts but also can create after the catch.
Dickerson shows off a big catch radius on an in-breaking route, flashes some change of direction, and hits the turbo button in the open field. The wideout also plays through some contact and does a good job of lower his pad level to give him some leverage as a runner. However, Dickerson is threat to enter full stride and run by defensive backs at any point.

The speed threat is absolutely real and a bonafide weapon but the ability to stop and start and generate acceleration gives the Kentucky commit a chance to develop into a big-time receiver.
Dallas Dickerson checks a ton of boxes
Dallas Dickerson owns good positional size, length, tier A long speed, and quick burst acceleration. Those are some good traits to build from as he transitions to the Southeastern Conference.
Dickerson will bring instant credibility once he steps onto the practice fields outside of the Joe Craft Football Training Facility due to his ability to get vertical and create separation but what will determine his success at the next is if that speed be shown off in route-running and as a YAC creator. The junior tape shows a player who has potential in each of those areas.
The newest Kentucky wideout is a true burner who shows off some different speed gears on tape. Add that in with good ball skills and the ability to create with the football in his hands and that gives the Kentucky offense a young talent at wide receiver with a dynamic skill set.
