FINAL: Kentucky wins at Florida in the regular season finale, 71-63
Florida’s O’Connell Center was the site of Kentucky Basketball’s latest and last roadkill win of the 2021-2022 regular season. The Wildcats traveled down to Florida to play the Gators in CBS’s Saturday afternoon matchup and the result was a 71-63 victory for Kentucky to lock down a 25-6 regular season record and the SEC Tournament’s No. 3 seed.
As for how it all went down, Oscar Tshiebwe was unstoppable (again). The Player of the Year frontrunner had a double-double by halftime, his 25th in 31 games, and finished with 27 points and 15 rebounds in the end. Tshiebwe’s two-game total against Florida is 54 points, 34 rebounds this season.
Sahvir Wheeler and Kellan Grady joined Thiebwe in double figures with 13 and 11 points apiece. Kentucky’s third guard, TyTy Washington, sat most of the second half while Kentucky was in control, but checked in late to help fight off a late comeback attempt. Washington had only six points but five assists with some time spent at point guard in the first half.

For Florida, the loss likely means no NCAA Tournament unless the Gators go on a run in Tampa. Kentucky spoiled any Senior Day fun in Gainesville with a start-to-finish lead from 2-0 on. The Cats never trailed.
