FINAL: No. 10 Kentucky easily beats KWC 95-72 in first exhibition
When playing early-season exhibition games, a blowout win is always expected. No. 10 Kentucky did just that on Friday night in Rupp Arena against Kentucky Wesleyan in what was an easy 95-72 victory for the Wildcats. This was the first of two exhibition games for UK in preparation for the season-opener against Duke on Nov. 9.
Kentucky was paced by freshman TyTy Washington and junior Keion Brooks Jr., who both added 18 points apiece. Oscar Tshiebwe posted an 11-point, 10-rebound double-double while Sahvir Wheeler went for 10 points, three rebounds, and six assists. Davion Mintz was the leading scorer off the bench with 12 points to go along with his four boards and six dimes.
As a team, Kentucky shot a blistering 53.5 percent from the floor and 37.9 percent from beyond the arc. UK finished the night with nine total turnovers but did not register a single one in the final 20 minutes of action. The trio of Brooks Jr., Tshiebwe, and Wheeler combined for a plus-minus of +78.
