First Down Kentucky: Eye-Opening Official Visit Upgrade
This spring a new rule shook up the college football recruiting world. The photo shoot, a treasured part of the recruiting experience, was eliminated from unofficial visits. The folks in the Kentucky recruiting department saw this change as an opportunity to seize the moment and they made an incredible audbile.
In the past, Kentucky had to be prepared to suit up hundreds of players to take photos during unofficial visits throughout the year. Now limited to a few dozen photo shoots during official visits, the Cats used their resources to make them look sharp as hell.
UK’s Jacob Noger spent some time with the folks at Vintage Therapy in Lexington to ensure the Kentucky official visitors are in the best merchandise possible when posing for pictures. To quote one Kanye West, the swagger is on a hundred thousand trillion.
I’m not sure what fit I like best — Tucker Kattus‘ t-shirt, Marquise Davis‘ baseball jersey, or Andrew Purcell‘s letterman’s jacket. What I do know is that I need all of them in my wardrobe STAT.
New Kentucky RPM Pick
The official visit swagger didn’t just impress me. Kentucky landed Purcell and also locked up a commitment from WR Ja’Kayden Ferguson. The smoke signals from Lexington are telling us they may not be the only visitors pledging their allegiance to Kentucky following the eventful weekend.
Our favorite merging man from KSBoard, Jacob Polacheck, has logged an RPM pick for Kentucky to flip UCF commit DeMarcus Gardner. A three-star cornerback from Georgia, Gardner is a two-way player ranked as a Top 25 ATH in the country.

We might need to make a few more RPMs after seeing this Tweet from Brad White. Methinks LB Christian Gass‘ official visit is off to a hot start.
Deja vu All Over Again?
Around this time a year ago, Kentucky was in a great spot to land an uber-athletic tight end from Cleveland. Then Ohio State entered the picture with a committable offer and lost out on Damarion Witten. I hope history doesn’t repeat itself, but I fear things are trending in that direction.
Kentucky was the team to beat for Cleveland tight end Brody Lennon. Days before officially visiting Lexington, the three-star prospect tested incredibly at Ohio State and received an offer. Hopefully, Vince Marrow can work his magic to prevent us from suffering from a case of deja vu.
Outstanding Live Television
There are so many different ways to consume content now, it can be difficult for traditional media to stick out against the competition, particularly on cable television. The exception to this is live television. I’m not a Golf Channel guy, but Johnson Wagner and his glorious mustache continue to produce exciting moments, none more so than his approach shot exhibition following the conclusion of the U.S. Open. You can’t script it any better than this.
