Folks, we’ve almost reached the finish line. Kentucky hosts South Carolina tomorrow afternoon at 3:45 pm EST for the first-ever SEC on ABC broadcast. It’s Friday evening, which means you’re probably getting pretty antsy. Patience is hard to find at this time, but you got this. It’ll be Football Time in the Bluegrass before you know it.

Joey Chesnut is a Kentucky Native?!?!

How did it take me this long to learn that the greatest human to ever eat is also a proud son of the Commonwealth of Kentucky? Born in Fulton County at the far western tip of the state, Chesnut just cashed in big with Netflix by guzzling down a record 83 hot dogs in ten minutes on Labor Day, defeating his longtime foe Takeru Kobayashi. Chesnut is taking a victory lap by zooming into Marty and McGee, which begins at 9 am EST on the SEC Network.

Broadcasting from the Orange Lot near Good Barn on University Drive, SEC Network will have three hours of live coverage to get you ready for the Cats and the Cocks. Mark Stoops is making an appearance on the set and you can expect to see a lengthy feature on the new Kentucky signal-caller, Brock Vandagriff.

From the Vault: Moe Williams runs Wild Over South Carolina

Rather than Flashing Back on a Friday to a recent win, let’s look back on one of the best single-game performances in the history of Kentucky football. At Williams-Brice Stadium in 1995, Moe Williams rushed for a school-record 299 yards in a victory over South Carolina. Sprinkle in the damage he did as a pass-catcher and a return man, and Williams finished with 429 all-purpose yards and four touchdowns.

Vince Marrow is Locked In at Kentucky

Kentucky Sports Radio broke the news this morning that Jay Boulware and Vince Marrow each inked contract extensions with the University of Kentucky. The Big Dog has been with Mark Stoops since day one. That means he’s signed numerous contract extensions throughout his tenure, and unlike many others in the past, there was zero chatter surrounding this new deal that will keep him in Lexington through 2026 when he will make $1.3 million per year.

“I’m grateful for the contract extension and the opportunity to keep contributing toward building this football program,” Marrow Tweeted Friday afternoon. “Thank you to the administration, @UKYpres, @UKMitchBarnhart, @Marcus_D_Hill Ray Oliver, and the Big Blue Nation. A special thanks to @UKCoachStoops for 12 incredible years together, and for being the best coach in college football to work for. GO BIG BLUE!”

¡DALE!

This isn’t a salute to Dale Earnhardt, although it probably should be. Mr. Worldwide is stepping into the crazy world of college football by slapping his name on a stadium. Florida International is hosting Central Michigan in the first game at the renamed Pitbull Stadium. Mr. 305’s fingerprints are all over the turf of the new facility.

Prepare for First After Dark Uniforms

Fire is used as both an adjective and a noun in this heading because Arizona State is bringing the heat to Sun Devil Stadium on Saturday night (a quick Google search tells me Sun Devil Stadium has been renamed ‘Mountain America Stadium’ which is not nearly as cool). It’s not hyperbole to say that these are some of the best football uniforms I’ve ever seen. Perfection.

How’s Mississippi State supposed to compete? With cowbells? Good luck, Jeff Lebby. The game kicks off late at 10:30 pm EST on ESPN.
