First Down Kentucky: We're Just Getting Started, Bro
What. A. Day. Javeon Campbell Day exceeded lofty expectations, and if that happens once he arrives in Lexington, Kentucky football fans are in for a treat.
Campbell committed to Kentucky in the company of about 50 friends in family gathered in Frankfort. That wasn’t too unusual. Did I expect him to join a live edition of 11 Personnel? Of course not. We also got to catch up with Wan’Dale Robinson, who can’t wait to see Campbell develop as he adds more and more reps.
You can catch up on everything here, but don’t forget that there’s more in store this week. Kentucky will have hats on the table for three more decisions over the next three days, beginning with WR Samari Reed, then OT Jermiel Atkins, and CB Dawayne Galloway. When you’re hot, you squat, and the Cats are en fuego right now.
Matt Miller isn’t Buying All Deone Walker Stonks
Most NFL Draft analysts have fallen head over heels for Deone Walker. Even though he’s a second team All-American in many preseason publications, many in the NFL Draft community believe Walker is better suited to play on Sundays than Michigan’s Mason Graham. His athletic traits are just too incredible to not be the first defensive tackle to be picked.
ESPN’s Matt Miller doesn’t necessarily see that. In his first 2025 mock draft, he has Graham in the Top 10 while projecting the Kentucky Wildcat to slide all the way down to the Miami Dolphins at No. 21.
If you like Derrick Brown and Dexter Lawrence, you’re going to love Walker. The 6-foot-6, 348-pounder is an anchor in the middle of the Kentucky defensive line but also has the quickness and agility to get after the quarterback, notching 7.5 sacks in 2023. He would immediately plug the nose tackle hole in Miami, allowing speedy edge rushers Jaelan Phillips, Chop Robinson and Bradley Chubb more true one-on-one looks coming off the corner.

The SEC Network Delivers Kentucky Dominance
Today served as another reminder that when the Wildcats play the Cardinal Birds on the gridiron, Kentucky is going to win. Watching Ray Davis run all over Louisville was delightful.

Nebraska QB expected to be healthy before next game, per report
Who will light up Louisville this year on Thanksgiving Saturday? If we’ve learned anything over the last two years, a freshman tight end is going to make a jaw-dropping play. Willie Rodriguez is up next. History also tells us there’s a good chance one person from Kentucky will run for multiple touchdowns. Will it be Brock Vandagriff or Chip Trayanum? Probably both.
Three Surprising College Football Headlines
Most of the college football world awoke to the news that Ollie Gordon was arrested on suspicion of DUI. The Oklahoma State running back is a Preseason First Team All-American. Not exactly the news the Pokes wanted to hear ahead of the season.
In other shocking news, Utah State is expected to fire head coach Blake Anderson after a Title IX investigation revealed he failed to timely disclose information about sexual misconduct and domestic violence. There aren’t too many details available to the public.
On a lighter note, we saw more evidence of how much college athletics has changed over the last 15 years. Jim Tressel had to resign from Ohio State after players exchanged Buckeye gear for free tattoos. On Monday Ohio State wide receiver Jeremiah Smith gave his tattoo artist a signed Buckeye jersey as a gift after he got inked. We really are in a completely different world in college athletics.
