Some stories are just too good to make up. Today’s comes to us from Floyd County, Kentucky, where a man was arrested last night following a high-speed chase that began when he flashed a convenience store clerk and ended in Frog Town.

I’m not sure which is better: the mugshot, his tattoos, or the description of the incident on the Prestonsburg Police Department’s Facebook page.

“Y’all. Y’all. This IS the facepalm emoji. Shawn Emerson-Gayheart of McDowell decided to get out in his GEM of an F-150 with bad Ohio registration and swing by the Tiger Mart in Prestonsburg.

Some time during his joy ride, he decided it would be an even better idea to have some of that smoky white devil we call “meth”. Then, when he’s at the Tiger Mart, he decided he’d give the clerk a gander at his nether region, which resulted in a call to yours truly, THE LAW. It didn’t help any that he was obviously pretty impaired while he did it.

Ptl. Caldwell observed a vehicle matching Shawn’s going the wrong way on US-23 and lit up that Hemi with the blues. Shawn then had another one of them brain thoughts and put his 5.4 Triton V8 to the test (It was no match, everyone knows about the cam phasers in those things).

He headed through Allen and into Martin where our pals with Floyd County SO and the Kentucky State Police were waiting for us. He had the intersection of Kentucky 122, 1428, and 80 at his disposal. He chose old Hite Road and headed to Frog Town instead, where he was met with a dead end.”

Emerson-Gayheart is charged with DUI, fleeing and evading police, driving on a suspended license, and other moving violations and was taken to the Floyd County Jail. As the Prestonsburg Police Department says, “You can’t out run Motorola, boyz.”
