Former Cat Chauncey Magwood is back in the portal
Chauncey Magwood is learning that the grass isn’t necessarily greener on the other side. Leaving Kentucky following the 2022 season, the former three-star receiver transferred to Central Florida expecting a career breakthrough in Orlando. That did not happen, and now, the soon-to-be senior out of Albany, GA is on the move once again.
According to On3’s Pete Nakos, the former Wildcat turned Knight reentered the transfer portal on the last day to do so until the spring.
Magwood caught five balls for 102 yards and no touchdowns as a redshirt junior this past season to bring his career total to 263 yards on 17 catches and one touchdown. He picked up 121 yards on eight catches and a score in two seasons (2021-22) as a Wildcat, playing in 25 of 26 games in that span.
Magwood, a consensus three-star, was the No. 592 overall recruit and No. 88 wide receiver in the class of 2021 in the On3 Industry Ranking. He originally picked Kentucky over Arkansas, Florida State, Louisville, Nebraska and South Carolina, arriving on campus as a mid-year enrollee.

“Chauncey can play all three positions,” former wide receivers coach Scott Woodward said of Magwood at the time. “He’s very smart and you can count on him. He’s got incredible hands. … You can trust Chauncey.”
