Former Kentucky forward Jordan Burks back in the transfer portal

Jordan Burks is on the move again.
Burks, who started his college career at Kentucky (2023-24) before making the move to Georgetown (2024-25), has entered his name back into the transfer portal, according to On3’s Pete Nakos. The 6-foot-9 forward is now searching for his third school in three years. He’ll have two years of eligibility remaining at his next stop.
After taking on a bench role at Kentucky as a freshman, Burks was a steady role player for Georgetown as a sophomore under head coach Ed Cooley. He averaged 5.7 points and 3.4 rebounds in 18.6 minutes on 52.1 percent shooting and 35.6 percent shooting from deep. The Alabama native started 11 of his 34 games played.
Finishing his high school career at Overtime Elite, Burks was a late addition to what would be John Calipari‘s final recruiting class at Kentucky. He was considered a borderline Top 100 recruit by On3 before committing to UK in June 2023 over the likes of Ole Miss, Oregon State, and Georgia Tech.
Burks played limited minutes as a freshman with the Wildcats, averaging 1.9 points and 1.7 rebounds in just 7.2 minutes per outing across 20 games played. His best outing was a 13-point, five-rebound performance on the road against Vanderbilt in a 109-77 blowout win. He finished with four games of five or more points before entering the portal in April 2024 upon Calipari’s surprise move to Arkansas.

A month later, Burks transferred to play Big East basketball at Georgetown. He mostly came off the bench throughout the season but was inserted into the starting lineup for the Hoyas’ final nine games of the season. During that span, he averaged 10.4 points and 6.3 rebounds in 33.4 minutes per contest on 47.3 percent shooting. In the first round of the College Basketball Crown tournament, Burks dropped 16 points and 13 rebounds in a win over Washington State.
But Georgetown would lose the following game to Nebraska earlier this week, ending Burks’ season. Two days later, he’s back in the portal in search of a new home.
