Jaxson Robinson Inks NBA Deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers

It took nearly a week, but former Kentucky Wildcat Jaxson Robinson has finally found a landing spot in the NBA.
Jon Chepkevich of DraftExpress reports Robinson has inked an Exhibit-10 contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Robinson was invited to the NBA Combine following his 2024 campaign at BYU, where he was named Big 12 Sixth Man of the Year. His NBA Draft stock plummeted thanks to an injury that prematurely ended his college career. Robinson underwent surgery after reaggravating a wrist injury in the penultimate week of the regular season at Oklahoma.
Even though he was limited to just 24 games in a Kentucky jersey, he was incredibly effective for Mark Pope in Lexington. Robinson was the Wildcats’ second-leading scorer, averaging 13 points per game while shooting 43.2% from the floor and 37.6% from three-point land.
Robinson got off to a somewhat slow start, but really turned it on in SEC play. Playing against the best competition in the country, he tallied 14.4 ppg. on 45.7% shooting from three-point land. He had three 20+ point games in SEC play, most notably a 27-point explosion at Mississippi State where he netted 7-10 three-pointers. That was not his most impressive game as a Wildcat.

Kentucky was shorthanded at Gonzaga. Lamont Butler was sidelined with an injury, and Kerr Kriisa suffered what would be a season-ending foot injury. The shooting guard was tasked to be the Cats’ primary ball-handler, and he was magnificent. Robinson had 18 points and five assists to help the Wildcats erase a 16-point halftime deficit to win 90-89 in overtime.
Injuries forced Robinson to take a different route to the NBA. The Exhibit-10 contract will get him a roster spot in the NBA Summer League and a training camp invite. If he can’t make the Cavs’ final roster, he can grit his teeth and grind through the G League. All of BBN has Robinson’s back as he blazes a trail through the NBA.
