Former Kentucky OT Courtland Ford Lands at UCLA
It’s pretty clear that Courtland Ford thinks the West Coast is the Best Coast. The offensive tackle from Texas is taking his talents back to California to conclude his college football career.
Pete Nakos reports that Courtland Ford has signed to play for UCLA. It will be the Texas native’s third team in six seasons.
The three-star high school talent started his career at USC. As a redshirt freshman, he started in eight games at left tackle. The following season, that number shrunk to three starts thanks to injuries, a common theme throughout his career. Ford was squeezed out during the Lincoln Riley transition and found a soft landing spot in the transfer portal at Kentucky.
Unfortunately, the stars never aligned for him to succeed in Lexington. He was projected to compete for the starting right tackle position in 2023. Jeremy Flax eventually beat him out for that spot. A big offseason could get him back on track, but injuries prevented that from happening. He missed all of spring practice with a wrist injury and those woes plagued him until the season began. Ford eventually got some run at the end of the year, but only a few snaps here and there.

Kentucky thought they hit a home run in the transfer portal when they landed Courtland Ford. Like almost everything on the offensive line as of late, things just didn’t work out for the Cats as we expected. Best of luck to him in Westwood.
