One of the fastest athletes in the entire country is headed to College Station.

On Friday night, former Kentucky Wildcats wide receiver Jordan Anthony, who entered his name into the transfer portal on May 30, announced through social media that he will remain in the SEC and has committed to the Texas A&M Aggies. Anthony, who doubles as a star track and field athlete, will have four years of college eligibility left. He intends to participate in both football and track and field with the Aggies, much like he did during his one season in Lexington.

Although undersized at just 5-foot-9, 160 pounds, Anthony counters that with blinding speed. He set a Kentucky freshman record in the 60-meter dash earlier this year with an indoor time of 6.55 seconds, earning a silver medal along the way. That being said, he redshirted his first college football season in 2022 after appearing in just two games for the Wildcats.

Anthony was a four-star recruit out of Tylertown (MS) High, grading out as a top 350 prospect from the class of 2022 according to the On3 Industry Ranking. He was a two-time Mississippi Gatorade Track & Field Athlete of the Year during his pre-college days and was even tabbed “fastest high schooler in the world” in April 2022. Anthony initially chose Kentucky over the likes of Boston College, Houston, Memphis, and Ole Miss, among others.

Once he hit the portal, Anthony picked up offers from Texas A&M, Mississippi State, Houston, Memphis, Texas Tech, and Tennessee. He didn’t even need two full weeks before finding a new home with the Aggies.
