If you’re making a list of the most impressive college basketball prospects to come from the city of Louisville over the last decade, Kaleb Glenn would be near the top of it.

The 6-foot-6 forward was a star for Male. During his junior year, he averaged 21.6 points and 12.6 rebounds per game while shooting 36% from three-point land. The Seventh Region Player of the Year hit a game-winning jumper in triple-overtime of the Regional Championship to send the Dogs to the Sweet 16.

Glenn spent his final season playing prep ball at La Lumiere before returning to his hometown to play for Kenny Payne’s Cards. Playing for Kenny Payne didn’t work out well for anyone.

Many expected Pat Kelsey to try to retain the hometown hero. It’s unclear which side was ready to move on, but that’s what Glenn did, spending his sophomore season at Florida Atlantic.

The Owls took a step back in their first year without Dusty May, but that’s not the case for Glenn. He was Florida Atlantic’s best player. He averaged a team-high 12.6 points per game while shooting 53.1% from the floor and 41% from three. Glenn also grabbed 4.8 rebounds per game, putting together a solid transfer portal resume.

On Thursday, On3’s Joe Tipton broke the news that Glenn will play for Tom Izzo at Michigan State. He will once again share the court with Jeremy Fears, a former teammate at La Lumiere.

Glenn was a great ball player in the state of Kentucky. Even though the Cards tried to derail his career, he’s finding a second life with one of the biggest brands in all of college basketball.
