Four Kentucky Wildcats Earn All-SEC Honors
Kentucky had as many wins as All-SEC selections in 2024. That’s right, four Wildcats made one of the three postseason All-SEC teams, as voted on by the league’s coaches.
Specialists were the only ones to receive first team honors. Alex Raynor was the best placekicker in the SEC, netting 15-16 field goals and 26-27 PATs. He’s one of three finalists for the Lou Groza Award, given each year to the nation’s top kicker. Raynor only missed two field goals during his two seasons at Kentucky.
Barion Brown was a second team All-SEC all-purpose back and the first team return specialist. The Nashville native returned a kickoff at Florida 99 yards for a touchdown. It was the fifth kickoff return touchdown in his career, the most in SEC history. He has played his last down for the Wildcats and is looking for a new home in the transfer portal, most likely in the SEC.

Eli Cox was a third team All-SEC center. The Super Senior from Jessamine County started in 47 straight games for the Cats. Defensive tackle Deone Walker was also featured on the third team. The monster from Detroit, Michigan had 37 tackles, 5 TFLs, 1.5 sacks, and a fumble recovery in 11 games for the Wildcats. Walker declared for the NFL Draft a week after Kentucky’s season wrapped up with a loss to Louisville.
