Four-star DL Kendrick Gilbert delays commitment announcement
Kentucky is finally beginning to gather some big momentum on the recruiting trail. Just 48 hours after tailback Khalifa Keith committed on Monday, blue-chip defensive back Avery Stuart joined the fold on Wednesday. The Wildcats are also trending for iOL Koby Keenum who announces on Saturday.
However, another expected announcement will have to wait. On Wednesday, four-star defensive line prospect Kendrick Gilbert announced that a commitment decision will not be made on Thursday on his personal Instagram story.
Kendrick Gilbert (6-5, 250) is the No. 364 prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. The top-five recruit in Indiana took official visits to Iowa, Kentucky, LSU, and Purdue in June.

Each of those four programs were included in Gilbert’s final four as a summer decision approached. As of now, we’ll have to play the waiting game to see what this highly-regarded prospect will do as recruiting classes throughout college football are starting to fill up. Previously, Gilbert wanted to make a decision before his senior year started at Indianapolis (Ind.) Cathedral. That date is arriving soon.
Kentucky has hosted Gilbert on campus three times since last October and is firmly in the hunt for another high quality defensive prospect.
