Fox, Monk together again in Sacramento
One of the best Kentucky backcourts to ever do it will team up again in the NBA. Unfortunately, it is in Sacramento but, hey, let’s not get picky.
Let’s instead celebrate the reunion of De’Aaron Fox and Malik Monk now that Monk is signing with Fox’s Sacramento Kings in free agency. According to Shams Charania, Monk is signing a two-year deal worth $19 million to join his old teammate in Sactown. Monk had previously expressed his desire to stay with the Lakers in L.A.

But wait, there’s more! A third former Wildcat, Trey Lyles re-signed with the Kings earlier today. Sacramento also signed Nate Sestina to its Summer League roster.
Fox and Monk at Kentucky
In the 2016-17 college basketball season, Kentucky’s freshman backcourt of De’Aaron Fox and Malik Monk led the ‘Cats to a 32-6 overall record and an Elite Eight finish in the NCAA Tournament, only a Luke Maye miss and overtime from the Final Four. Together they combined for 37 points per game in their one-and-done season and gave the Big Blue Nation some of its favorite memories of the Calipari era.
Fox’s tournament game against Lonzo Ball and Monk’s performance against UNC come to mind.
I guess we’re Kings fans again?
