Hello friends. Welcome to the final Kentucky football recruiting blitz. The contact period ends Sunday night at midnight, meaning coaches have less than 72 hours left to speak directly with prospective recruits, whether they’re in high school or transfer portal players. There’s a last minute scramble across the country to make one final pitch to players. Here’s the latest scoop and scuttlebutt while we continue Devin Leary Watch.

Scuttlebutt: Kentucky Hosting Numerous Official Visitors

Unlike previous years, Kentucky has been extra tight-lipped. The whispers around the Joe Craft Football Training Facility have turned into crickets. Finding confirmation for official guest lists has been difficult, but we know of a few players that could be in Lexington this weekend.

RB Ray Davis and LB Asa Newsom were initially on the docket for last weekend. It appears they each pushed the visits back a week, which should be considered a positive sign. The father of the Vanderbilt transfer has been shouting out the BBN on social media leading up to the visit, putting KSR on commitment watch. Newsom is an Iowa native the Hawkeyes want badly. Securing a UK commitment would be a coups for the Cats.

Earlier this week Florida State commitment Tavion Gadson told Rivals he will officially visit Kentucky this weekend. The three-star, top 50 defensive line prospect is also being pursued by Tennessee.

Another transfer portal player, Ohio State defensive back Jantzen Dunn, could be in Lexington this weekend. Dane Key’s cousin hosted Vince Marrow for a visit the day after the Bowling Green native hopped into the portal. Another transfer portal cornerback, Alabama’s Khyree Jackson, shared photos from his official visit to Kentucky.

Scoop: Jamarion Wilcox visits Auburn

Kentucky is trying to secure two signatures from running backs when the Early Signing Period begins Wednesday. Clemson was all-in on Jamarion Wilcox early on, but the Wildcats made serious headway for the one-time Georgia Tech commit when he officially visited in October.

Kentucky appears to be the team to beat, however, Hugh Freeze is making a late push. The new Auburn head coach kicked off the month by offering Wilcox a scholarship. Now our friends at Auburn Live are expecting Wilcox to officially visit this weekend. It’s going down to the wire for the running back that was recently upgraded to a Top 150 player overall by Rivals.

Scuttlebutt: Good Signs for Karmello English

It’s been radio silent for the four-star wide receiver from Alabama since he did some flip-flopping with Auburn over the summer. However, we can get a good idea of where Kentucky’s Scott Woodward stands with Karmello English by gauging what the competition is saying about the recruit. Throughout the week Michigan insiders have insisted that Kentucky is a serious player in English’s recruitment. Now they’re beginning to pivot to a new wide receiver recruit, a sign that Michigan’s staff may be ready to wave the white flag. We do not know much about Karmello English’s decision, but it feels like Kentucky is right where it wants to be entering the homestretch.
