Georgia Amoore nearly dropped a fiftyburger on Oklahoma
Georgia Amoore was a two-time first-team All-ACC performer for a reason at Virginia Tech. The Australian native is one of the best point guards in women’s basketball. There is no denying that. Kenny Brooks’ leader is playing a big role in Kentucky’s 19-2 (8-1) start.
Amoore might have had the best performance of her career in Kentucky’s 95-86 road win over No. 13 Oklahoma on Sunday. The graduate transfer went off and nearly dropped a fiftyburger on the Sooners in Norman.
Georgia Amoore scored a career-high 43 points on 22 field goal attempts with seven three-point makes. The point guard also delivered eight assists in 39 minutes on the floor. Oklahoma had no answers. This performance was one of the best in Kentucky program history.
The ACC transfer tied a school-record for points in a game joining Rhyne Howard and Jennifer O’Neill. Amoore became just the fifth player in Division I this season to score as many as 43 points. Kentucky’s lead guard nearly dropped a fiftyburger in a conference game.
