Georgia Amoore is on another watch list for another major national award.

The Kentucky point guard is one of fifteen players on the national ballot for the John R. Wooden Award, which is given to the nation’s most outstanding player.

Amoore joins Lauren Betts (UCLA), Madison Booker (Texas), Paige Bueckers (UConn), Audi Crooks (Iowa State), Hannah Hidalgo (Notre Dame), Aziaha James (NC State), Flau’jae Johnson (LSU), Ta’Niya Latson (Florida State), Olivia Miles (Notre Dame), Aneesah Morrow (LSU), Sedona Prince (TCU), Sarah Strong (UConn), Hailey Van Lith (TCU) and JuJu Watkins (USC) on the ballot.

She is averaging 19.1 points and 6.9 assists per game, which is good enough for third in the country and tops in the SEC. When Kentucky defeated Oklahoma in Norman, she tied a program record for points in a single game, putting up 43 points on 7-12 shooting from three-point range.

Additionally, this season, she became the third player in Division I women’s basketball history to tally 2,300 career points and 800 career assists, joining Sabrina Ionescu and Caitlin Clark — both of which are past Wooden Award winners.

If Amoore were to be named the Wooden Award winner, she would be the first in Kentucky history to win it. Even when you take in the vast history on the men’s side, only Anthony Davis and Oscar Tshiebwe have won it.

Could Amoore be the next Cat in line to be given the prestigious honor?
