Georgia Amoore‘s incredible season continues to bring in the accolades.
Kentucky women’s basketball’s star point guard was added to a pair of prestigious midseason lists this week. On Tuesday, Amoore was tabbed to the John R. Wooden Award Late Midseason Top 20 Watch List. A day later, she was named to the Naismith Women’s Player of the Year Midseason Team.
Not too shabby.
A fifth-year senior from Australia, Amoore is playing even better than her All-American season in 2023-24 at Virginia Tech. The fifth-year floor general is averaging 19.2 points and an SEC-leading 7.4 assists in 36 minutes per outing. She’s shooting 43.4 percent from the floor, 33.7 percent from deep, and 86.7 percent from the free-throw line.
Kentucky is currently ranked No. 8 in the country, the program’s highest ranking since the 2015-16 season, in large part due to Amoore’s production under head coach Kenny Brooks.

Amoore has scored in double-digits in 21 of Kentucky’s 22 games this season. Her 43 points against Oklahoma on Feb. 2 tied the school record for most in a single game. She has 16 games this season with at least seven assists. ESPN recently projected her as a first-round pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft.
