Following an illustrious collegiate career and a historic year at Kentucky to cap it off, Georgia Amoore is going pro.

On Monday, Amoore was selected by the Washington Mystics with the 6th overall pick in the WNBA Draft after being invited to the event in New York City.

She was the third pick by the Mystics on the night alone, joining Notre Dame’s Sonia Citron and USC’s Kiki Iriafen. Washington went 14-26 last season, and two-time WNBA MVP Elena Delle Donne retired this offseason. Amoore will try to get Washington back on its feet.

The 5-foot-6 product of Ballarat, Australia was named the SEC Newcomer of the Year in her lone season in Lexington, putting up 19.6 points, 6.9 assists and 2.3 rebounds per game. She was also named First Team All-SEC as she became Kentucky’s all-time single season assists leader (213).

Her time as a Wildcat was highlighted by her outing at Oklahoma on February 2nd, where she tied the program record for points in a game (43), tying Rhyne Howard and Jennifer O’Neill. Amoore also became the third player in the history of women’s college basketball to record 2,300 career points and 800 career assists, joining the likes of Caitlin Clark and Sabrina Ionescu.
